I love Sydney, I do. But the fact of the matter is — Sydney is a normal city. That is to say, it’s a really cool city, but with perfectly normal city things to do. If you’re from a Westernized country, you’re obviously not going to experience culture shock here.
But one thing that Sydney goes above and beyond with? Beaches. Sydney has a lot of them.
One of the highly recommended activities to do while in Sydney is walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach (or walk even further to southern beaches which is what I did) using their coastal path. So on this beautiful Saturday afternoon, I decided to make the journey.
Using the public transportation system to Sydney’s beaches isn’t hard, but it’s certainly not convenient. I took two trains and a bus to get 20 minutes away by car.
My trek started at the top of the “Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk.” I would then pass through Tamarama Beach, Bronte Beach, Clovelly Beach, and finally Coogee Beach.
*turn your speakers down – loud wind!*
The walk was absolutely stunning, and it made sense why it was so highly recommended. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to walk all the way to Coogee. Once I got there, I was pretty tired and hot. I decided to sit in the shade and read my book (I started this book back in Croatia. It’s taking me forever to finish it, despite it being a great book).
Then I joined the locals out on the beach to get some sun. Unfortunately I got too much sun and walked away with a sunburn. Whomp whomp.
Sometimes Sydney feels a lot like home. And sometimes I’m reminded that I’m nowhere near it.
Nice view!
