It’s hard to believe that this journey all began back in 2016. Back when I was working and saving as much as I could for this trip. Grumbling under my breath as I biked to work in freezing temperatures or constantly counting my pennies.
I remember wondering if all of this hard work was going to be worth it.
Flash forward to this past July – in Paris. I was walking through one of the parks (probably eating a pastry) when it hit me: every sacrifice – every single day of hard work – was 1000x worth it. And looking back now over the past 9 months – the memories and friends I’ve made are irreplaceable.
There were so many times when I would break down in tears thinking that this dream would never come true – that it was just barely out of my reach. And now I’m breaking down in tears because I’m so proud of myself. And because it’s time to come to an end.
To every single person who’s joined me on this adventure by reading along: thank you. I’ve always carried you with me in my heart every step of the way. And when times would get a little lonely, I would remember that you shared this journey with me.
So to conclude this grand 9-month adventure chasing summer around the world? I ran out of the arrivals gate and straight to my family.
The world is an amazing place, and you should get out there and see it for yourself. But my favorite place in the whole wide world is in the arms of the ones I love. And at my favorite Tex Mex place.
Until the next adventure …
Love,
Meagan.
“And at my favorite Tex Mex place….” hilarious!
Enjoyed reading every single blog post on your 9-month journey, it was great! 🙂
I just realized that I responded back to your comment under my brother’s username. Hahah! Whoops. Anyway, I said – “Awwww!! That makes me so so happy. Thanks for coming along with me!!”
