Seeing Friends From Countries Past

Come with me on a journey — waaaaay back to Scotland …

Though technically Edinburgh was only five months ago, it honestly feels like forever ago. It was in Edinburgh that I stayed in one of my favorite hostels to date (Castle Rock), met some really awesome people (shout out to Jason, my dance spirit animal – see below), and I also caught a really bad cold.

When I posted on Facebook last week that I would be in Australia for over a month, I was shocked to remember how many Aussie friends I made while on this trip. One of my very first Aussie friends I made was a girl named Annie who was staying in Castle Rock.

Annie, Jason, and I quickly formed a tight friend group while in Edinburgh. And to be honest, that was a hard group to match. When I discovered that Annie was free to catch up in Sydney, I got really excited.

When I first saw Annie again, my mind and body temporarily felt separated. My mind immediately went back to Edinburgh, but my body felt so far away from that time in my trip. It was a very weird feeling to say the least.

Annie and I spent hours catching up and reminiscing. It was such a great night. She also showed me a video that I didn’t even know was taken.

What can I say? Jason and I would tear up a dance floor hahaha

Overall today was a great day with a great person!
