Shopping at an American Grocery Store in Seville

I started the day by taking the worst walking tour I’ve ever been on.

In all fairness, it wasn’t anyone’s fault. It was my tour guide’s first tour, and she didn’t speak English very well. The weather was also scorching, and I hadn’t slept that well the night before. It was a perfect storm for a miserable time.

Luckily I met some people from the hostel, and we made the absolute best of it.

On the tour we passed by Hotel Alfonso XIII. Oh my gosh, will someone please sponsor me to stay here? Because wow. Wow, wow.

After the tour, we headed to a tapas bar for a quick bite to eat.

Y’all. Can we just discuss how wonderful tapas are? But more specifically how cheap they are? 1 or 2 euros for a substantial snack size meal.

On the tour, we ended up passing an amazing sight: an American grocery store. I immediately laughed when I saw it. No wonder people thing Americans are so extra. Just look at this place.

The food selections also made me laugh quite a bit. Cheerios, Mountain Dew, and Twinkies. Yep, that’s America for you. Haha!

I ended up buying salsa that was canned in Fort Worth, tortilla chips, and a Dr. Pepper. Good life choices were made.

Later that night, my hostel friends and I went to the Metropol Parasol to watch the sunset. I heard that it’s the largest wooden structure in the world, but it honestly looks like an odd UFO landing pad.

And later later that night, we all went to watch a Flamenco show. The dancing was amazing, but the location felt so sketchy. My friend Andrea leaned over at one point and said, “I feel like this place does Flamenco shows on Wednesday nights and chicken fights on Fridays.” That felt very accurate.
