Hostels are great opportunities to meet new people and get information about cities. But they’re also great ways to pick up a cough or sniffle.
I’m currently fighting a sore throat, fever, and runny nose. Not the best time in the world, but I’m sick in Edinburgh. Does that make it worth it? I’m not quite sure because I really just want my mom to make me a peanut butter and jelly in between naps.
Also, pharmaceuticals over here are quite pathetic compared to the drugstores in America. Count on America to get you properly medicated. Plus, all of the medicine over here has caffeine in it. I just want some NyQuil to knock me out for hours, please!
I stayed inside the hostel for a majority of the day. At 6pm I went to the movie room to watch Dallas Buyers Club. And then spent most of the movie defending that people in Dallas don’t generally talk like that. The struggle.
Also — here’s a movie clip in case you don’t get my post title 😉
Hope you get to feeling better. I, also, have a summer cold. Sleep is the best cure if you cannot get a peanut butter sandwich or NyQuil. Much love.
