The Whitney Hotel Review

The Whitney Hotel

Checking In

Deep in the heart of Downtown New Orleans, there is a treasure that is valuable beyond compare. The ever-beautiful and highly refined The Whitney Hotel is a gem set in the middle of the fast-paced crown of New Orleans. As I walked into the lobby, I instantly felt taken back into the days of old money. This phrase, however, seemed completely appropriate considering The Whitney Hotel was once a bank building back in the late 1800s during a time of ritz and luxury. They have preserved the architecture impeccably well, and I felt myself enjoying every extravagance. As I headed to my room with key in hand, I knew my time spent here would be a wonderful escape from the bustle of downtown.

The Room

My room at The Whitney Hotel was just what a room ought to be. Lovely and spacious, it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of seeing the sights. The hotel has 93 guest rooms and suites under its roof, and all give the chance for relaxation. From the comfortable Superior guest rooms to the spacious Suites, you’ll find just what you’re looking for that suits your individual needs.

The Amenities

The Whitney Hotel

The amenities and services offered at The Whitney Hotel were always greatly appreciated. One of the best things about staying at this beautiful hotel would be its close proximity to major venues and districts in New Orleans. During my stay, I was able to walk to every single sight that I wanted to see. I even walked multiple times to the French Quarter in one day. I loved the convenience of being right in the middle of everything, yet having a sweet escape from the noise upon entering my hotel room.

Another wonderful amenity that The Whitney offers would be their valet services. Being that parking in downtown New Orleans could be quite stressful at times, I found the valet services most helpful.

Dining

The Whitney Hotel offers their guests and visitors alike a wonderful dining option during their time in New Orleans. Bistreaux at the Bank is located on the ground floor of the hotel and is outstanding from the moment you walk through the doors. With its banking history demonstrated through its architecture, these high ceilings and stunning details make you feel like a millionaire as you dine on authentic Creole cuisine.
