Checking In
The Mandarin Oriental Atlanta provides, without question, the utmost care for their guests. With a brand that spans across the globe and known for their luxurious amenities, you cannot help but feel like royalty during your stay. As we placed our car keys into the hands of the valet, we were ushered into the clean and chic lobby. We were offered refreshments and warm, scented towels after our arduous drive to Atlanta. It was through small, subtle details like these that continuously gave us the feeling of care and luxury from the Mandarin Oriental.
The Room
The Mandarin Oriental Atlanta offers 127 spacious rooms and suites in its towering skyscraper that is nestled into the heart of the Buckhead neighborhood. We swiped our key into our Mandarin level room door and were instantly enveloped into a comfort and luxury that I could quickly become accustomed to. The mixture of delicate Asian touches with a strong, clean look made me feel like I had been transported straight to Hong Kong. I slipped on my cozy robe and melted into the soft bed and pillows. After traveling for the past two months, I can confidently say this was the best night’s sleep I have had in a while.
Though the bedroom was enough in and of itself, the bathroom was a fierce competitor of what I loved more. The crisp, black and white colors with pops of magenta gave the bathroom a regal feel. I spent a lovely time enjoying the perks of having a massive bathtub and flat screen TV, and felt completely rejuvenated after. The Mandarin Oriental Atlanta also offers their own scented bath and body products which go by the name of Quintessence. Keeping with the Asian theme, it is an aroma mixture of all five of the elements. It gives an overall woody and tribal scent which takes your senses far away to another land.
The Amenities
Where do I even begin with the amenities of the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta when they provide so much at the disposal for their guests? Whether you are looking for a laid-back environment to socialize after a long workday or a place of seclusion to escape reality, the Mandarin Oriental has you covered. From their enchanting outdoor English gardens and yoga studio with classes every Saturday morning, to their extensive 15,000-square foot spa and indoor lap pool, you have everything you need just a floor or two away.
Dining
The Mandarin Oriental Atlanta offers two options for your dining and cocktail needs. The first being a gourmet restaurant called The Café and Bar. It has a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere during the day and turns elegant by dinner. On Thursday nights, you can enjoy the local flair by going to the Burgers and Brew event. Conveniently located within the hotel, you get the opportunity to try local beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and signature burgers.
Your second option is the stylish Taipan lounge. Relax and unwind as you share drinks with friends while overlooking the English garden. Be sure to join them on Friday nights for live music featuring several of Atlanta’s top jazz performers.
Extra Notes
One unique aspect to the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta would be their continuous rotation of contemporary art on display throughout the lobby of the hotel. Because new art is frequently featured, you can have a brand new visual experience every time you choose to stay in Atlanta.
