I Took a Nap

Nap

I’m not even going to pretend – I felt miserable upon landing into Seoul. My flight from Singapore to Seoul departed at 1am (which felt like 6am to me), and it took me 2.5 seconds to fall asleep in my seat. I slept for about 4 hours which seemed like an impressive feat for airplane sleeping standards (for us non-1st class consumers).

Unfortunately when I woke up, I couldn’t go back to sleep. So I watched one of my favorite rom coms – Crazy, Stupid Love. That movie is perfect in every way.

When I finally landed in Seoul, there was only one thing keeping me awake – I got to see Emily!

Emily was my roommate (Emily would like to note that she was “the best” roommate) back in college, and we’ve been best friends ever since. Albeit long distance best friends for years. Several years ago, it wasn’t so bad since she lived about two hours outside of Dallas. But now? Now she lives in South Korea, and that’s not exactly up the road.

So I was basically holding back a happy dance as I waited for my backpack in baggage claim. “C’mon backpack! I gotta best friend to see!” When my backpack finally came down the conveyor belt (which was a relief since I had three flights), I basically ran to arrivals.

And I was reunited with Emily! Hooray!

We got Starbucks and Krispy Kreme, and we talked a million miles a minute trying to catch each other up ASAP. It was wonderful.

We took a bus from the airport to Emily’s town, and I was ready to crash into a nap once we walked through the front door. I collapsed into my bed and slept for a few hours. I woke up so so confused. We then hung around the apartment watching YouTube videos and laughing about our silly life adventures.

Just like old times.

I also got a Korean face mask at the airport since my skin was uber dry. Apparently snail is a thing?
