English Magazines on Portuguese Beaches

Today’s plan was a simple one: get to the beach and lounge on said beach.

I stopped off at the grocery store to pick up some necessities. Water, sandwich, and a Glamour magazine. I wasn’t actually planning on picking up a magazine, but when I saw the wall of English options, my heart whispered, “buy it.”

Back when I was in high school, my mom and I would lay by the pool in the summer and read fashion magazines. I miss those moments, and I guess this was my way of trying to recreate that sweet summer memory.

Once I packed everything up into my little day backpack, I headed out for a 35-minute walk to the beach. I love my hostel, but it’s really not near the town center or the beaches.

When I finally made it to Praia do Camilo, my jaw dropped. It’s basically unreal.

I met up with some friends that I had made while in Seville, and together we chatted, played cards, and enjoyed the sun.

And that magazine made me feel a little closer to home.
